Board Members:

Constance Dougher, Board President, joined the Barnstone Art for Kids Board in July 2018. Connie brings years of experience including legal, human resources, risk and communications accountability along with years of board experience at Community Music School in Trappe, PA. Connie’s love of children and the Arts is what originally drew her to Barnstone Art for Kids.

Carrie Harcus, Vice President, joined the Barnstone Art for Kids Board in May of 2014 having been first introduced to Barnstone as a business consultant from the Arts & Business Council in Philadelphia, PA.  Carrie’s broad business background from senior roles at Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Co, Campbell Soup and currently SCA has strengthened and broadened the organizational structure at Barnstone Art for Kids.

Eric Daugherty, Treasurer, joined the Barnstone Art for Kids Board in January 2017.  Eric is a retired, local executive with vast experience in finance, strategy, leadership and business process. He assures the confident, fiscally responsible growth of Barnstone Art for Kids while realizing it’s mission.

Marggy Escorcia, Secretary, joined the Board in 2018 and currently works as a Speech and Language Pathologist at Devereux, CIDDS. She has served as a mentor in Barnstone Power programs since 2017 and is a parent of a child graduate of the Power of Art. Marggy is fluent in English and Spanish.

Caroline Cadigan, joined the Barnstone Art for Kids Board in July 2019. She started as a mentor in Barnstone’s programs in 2016 and completed an internship at Barnstone in the summer of 2019. She is currently an Ursinus student who is studying Psychology and Neuroscience. Caroline quickly fell in love with Barnstone’s mission and the kids in the programs after originally joining because of her interest in art and art therapy.

Charles Gallagher, Charles joined the Board in August, 2019. He is an occupational therapist with over 25 years of experience in Special Education/Early Intervention. His 40 plus years of practice in occupational therapy has included psychiatric settings as a therapist and supervisor. Prior to working in Early Intervention, he was a director of a large multi-specialty occupational therapy program within a larger department of Rehabilitation Medicine, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He also has extensive experience as a lecturer and presenter at local, state and national settings, and has had numerous adjunct faculty appointments in occupational therapy.

Lynn Detwiler founded Barnstone Art for Kids in 2011 as the cumulative expression of her lifelong passion for art and group facilitating work with grieving children. Currently serving as Executive Director of Barnstone Art for Kids, she will transition to a volunteer position and full Board member beginning July 2019. Lynn participates on the Advisory Council of the newly formed Chester County ACEs Coalition and the Greater Phoenixville ACE Committee.  National Conference attendance, local training participation, ongoing research study, and direct interaction in the Barnstone program allows maximum adaptability to the newest tools and methods.

Sean Halloran joined Barnstone first as a mentor and eventually joined the Board in 2017. As an Art Therapist and Psychologist, Sean brings a wealth of relevant knowledge to Barnstone Art for Kids. Sean has spent over 20 years in the non-profit, mental health world working with children and families as both a Clinician and Program Administrator/ Leader. His work in program development and leadership have included the integration of trauma-informed practices at both the programmatic and organizational levels.

As both a supporter and volunteer mentor at Barnstone Art for Kids, Sean was instrumental in monitoring the program and evaluation tools for the Power of Art. In July, Sean became the Executive Director of Barnstone Art for Kids. He will remain on the Board as a non-voting member.
